Saturday Stories

Saturday Stories is a highly engaging sensory storytelling session for adults with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Each session is carefully structured to support communication, engagement and emotional connection through story, music, movement and sensory exploration, with individuals supported to take part actively at their own level.

Participants are immersed in a shared story world using tactile objects, projected visuals, sound, scent and physical interaction. Sessions are lively and responsive, balancing moments of excitement with opportunities for relaxation, comfort and regulation. Wheelchair users are supported to relax safely and comfortably, including opportunities to come out of their chairs where appropriate.

This session is particularly suited to individuals who respond well to music, rhythm and sensory input, benefit from repetition and structure, enjoy shared experiences, and require skilled, responsive support. Saturday Stories is delivered by an experienced team and is a valued part of the MAC programme for adults with PMLD.
